I have been plagued with sleep problems for as long as I can remember. No matter how tired I get, I cannot fall asleep on my own, so I am reliant on prescription medication. I’ve actually gone as long as five days without sleep, trying to get to sleep on my own, but by then I am so exhausted I can’t take it anymore so I give in and take the pills. Right now I’m on Seroquel and Amitriptyline for sleep and depression. I take 800MG of Seroquel and 100MG of Amitriptyline. Even with the medication, I sometimes have trouble falling asleep.
Because of my sleep issues, I had previously never gotten into a good sleep routine. I was going to bed and waking up at different times, sleep was restless and sporadic. I had also developed some poor sleeping habits, such as falling to sleep with the television on, etc. Getting good sleep was a nightly battle which I continuously lost .
I was browsing the internet looking for some help or advice and I came across a site selling a SleepTracker® watch. I’m not really sure HOW the watch works, but I can tell you that it’s changed my life. I am now going to bed at the same time every night and waking up on a regular schedule. The SleepTracker watch has been a true godsend.
One of the things I like most about the watch is that you can set an alarm time for when you want to get up and set a time window, such as 30 minute or so. The watch waits until the right time, within the window you set, to wake you up and the results are feeling refreshed and well rested. The watch also keeps track of your sleep via a software program, which is something helpful when discussing your sleep issues with your doctor – although you need to keep track of your sleep and almost awake times in a notebook because one of the flaws of the software is that you can’t print out any of the information or reports. Again, this watch has changed my life and has helped me to develop better sleep habits.
In addition to the watch, I have completely changed my sleep routines. I no longer eat heavy meals before bed, the television stays off, and I play a variety of relaxing CD’s meant to aid sleeping. My favorite CD thus far is called H2O. It’s a mixture of water sounds with very relaxing music. I set the disc to repeat and enjoy a full night of restful sleep.
Despite all the good things that the watch and new habits have had on my sleep, I’m still dependant on medication to get me to sleep. I hope that someday I’ll be able to break free from this cycle, but it’s possible that I’ll never be able to go off the medications.
I wanted to post this here for others that may be having similar problems. The watch isn’t perfect, and if you’re a sound sleeper you might not hear or feel the alarm (it beeps and vibrates). I am in no way affiliated with the company that makes the watches, I’m just a satisfied customer.
I hope this information is useful for others and I’d love to hear back from people regarding their sleep routine. Also, if anyone else either has, or gets, the SleepTracker watch, I’d like to get some feedback on that as well. I also HIGHLY recommend the CD “H2O” which is available from the solitudes website, and possibly in some stores. I know that Bed Bath and Beyond sell the CD as well.
Thanks for listening, and hopefully this post will help others.
Well Rested Sean

I can’t give this disappointing product a 1-star review because it did manage to wake me up, even with the weak vibrate/beep function. However, I found that it either woke me up right at the beginning of the window or right at the end, in which case I might as well use my cheaper, more reliable, and more comfortable alarm clock. The accompanying computer software was even more disappointing- I had lots of problems getting the watch to hook up and be recognized by the software, which did not seem to have a delete function for incorrectly-entered information. If you have sleeping problems, as I do, the best thing I can recommend is improving your sleep hygiene by scheduling yourself enough time to sleep and having enough self-discpline to get out of bed the first time your alarm goes off, and stepping outside or turning on some music to wake up. Definitely not worth the money, I was disappointed with this product the minute I saw the box. I just hope I get my refund soon.

I was hopeful this would work. I agree wiith the premise; that where you wake in the sleep cycle matters, but this product doesn’t deliver. After 2 weeks of not waking rested and on-time I’m returning it.

I got this watch because I was curious about my sleeping patterns. I rarely awake refreshed, so I wondered how frequently I was almost awake through the night.
When I received the watch, the first thing that I was struck with was that it looked sturdy and of a higher quality than I had expected. I was impressed. After wearing it for the first night, I realized that it did not bother me at all, it went unnoticed through the night (however, I do wear a watch on the same arm all day) but regardless, the watch was comfortable.
I tend to wake up around the same time every day. Even though I always set my alarm clock, I am nearly always awake and up before it goes off. I didn’t get this watch to wake me up, however, as advertised, the watch alarm went off, just after I awoke naturally, while I was just lazing for a few moments before rising. So, the watch did reliably recognize my sleep/wake cycle. I really liked the vibrating alarm feature because I am a little deaf in one ear for high frequencies. If my good ear was buried in the pillow, I would not hear the beep alarm at all.
The watch showed that I had a higher than average number of “almost awake” moments each night and this may be why I rarely feel refreshed. I have used the watch for only three nights in row, and each night I did have fewer almost awake moments. The manual explains that it is normal to have a varying number.
I have not yet hooked it up to my computer, so I cannot comment on that.
Bottom line, if you are thinking about this purchase, I would recommend it. I have a friend who wants to get one to monitor the differences in his sleep when he takes different medications.
This watch really could be worn for daily wear. It is as attractive as any of the plastic band sports watches; it is solid, and it has a great day/date/time display.
I have nothing negative to say at all about the Sleeptracker watch.

I liked too much and it does work as they stated.
But i would suggest if they make it save the Analysis data into a memory that we can buy and insert it into the watch instead of the checking every day or the data will be lost, just like the mobile memories they are very small and have a huge size in Gigas so that will give space for saving years of data and personalize the data for each person because if i suggest this watch to someone he might want to test it, before buying.
